2nd Annual ICAN of North Florida SILENT AUCTION

We are so thrilled to announce our 2nd Annual Silent Auction to benefit our chapter.  Last year's auction was a huge success and directly impacted our reach in our community in a big way.  We're very grateful to our donors, both local businesses and artisans alike, who came together to graciously give of their products, time, and talents.

The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2015

What a fluffy success!  27 babies had their cloth diapers changed simultaneously with several hundreds more around the globe at Bay&Bee in Jacksonville, Florida on April 18, 2015. 

Being wonderful hosts, Bay&Bee gave us a space in air conditioned comfort to help fundraise for our chapter, while providing home baked goods made by our members.  Kimberly and I met with lots of local women, and made more than a few friends.  We were both grateful to be a part of such a fun community event, and we're looking forward to next year!  Congratulations to all who "changed" the world record!

The Great Cloth Diaper Change: Changing Bums and World Records!

The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2015 is nearly upon us!  In less a week, babies will have their fluffy bums changed at 11am local time across the globe, to produce a new world record for the most cloth diapers changed simultaneously.  

In Jacksonville, Florida, Bay&Bee will be hosting a GCDC event that is sure to be lots of fun.  Being an indoor, modern playspace, there's more to do than just changing fluff!  Stop by with your kids and check out all they have to offer.  With summer approaching, this beautiful, airy, and enchanting playspace gives kids all the fun, while still in air conditioned comfort.

ICAN of North Florida is proud to host our Bake Sale for the third year in a row at this one of a kind event.  We'll be selling delicious baked goods, made by our dedicated members, along with fresh fruits, and chilled beverages.  One of our biggest fundraisers, this event helps further our outreach within our community.  So stop on by; we'd love to meet you in person!

April Showers Bring... an Adorable Photography Fundraiser!

We'll be singing in the rain, or at least pretending if it's sunny.  Help us to celebrate Cesarean Awareness Month and to raise money for outreach and education in the North Florida area by participating in our spring mini-session fundraiser!

The awesome Jessica Lea Cumbie of Jessica Lea Photography will be shooting 20 minute sessions at a San Marco location throughout the day. These themed mini sessions will include April Showers themed props - Clouds, umbrellas, rain boots, puddles, and more. And if it actually rains? All the better! Bring your kids in their cutest spring clothes or muddy day wear!

Sessions include 10 image downloads and are only $90 for paid ICAN of North Florida members, and $100 to the public. To reserve your spot, Paypal $50 to north.fl@ican-online.org*, as well as your preferred time. The remainder of your fee is due at the session. Invitation to ICAN of North Florida's Inaugural Cookie Swap

Do you have a tried and true favorite cookie recipe? Do you love to bake? Then this is the event for you!

Do your baking skills begin and end with Publix or Pillsbury? Do you despise baking, but love to taste yummy cookies? Then this is the event for you, too!!

This is the event for all of you!! We'd like to gather everyone together for a fun Cookie Swap just in time for the holidays. Put your talents or your local bakery to the test and bring a few dozen cookies to our swap, along with a container to take home a sampling of every cookie. Print out plenty of recipe cards, too.

Once everyone has gone around and gathered cookies and recipes to take home, we will all sit and enjoy tasting everyone's creations and getting to know one another.

*** Cookie Swapping will start around 3pm to give plenty of time for all arrivals and set ups to take place ***

Come join us at 2:00pm until 5:00pm at the South Mandarin Library at 12125 San Jose Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida 32223.  You can show up at any time and hang out as long as you like.  However many cookies you bring is how many cookies you will be taking home.  ICAN will be providing milk, water, and coffee/teas.  We're looking forward to having you join us and making our Inaugural Cookie Swap a sweet success.

Welcome to ICAN of North Florida's Blog

ICAN of North Florida is a chapter of the International Cesarean Awareness Network serving Florida's First Coast: Jacksonville, St. Augustine, the Beaches, Ponte Vedra, Nocatee, Fernandina, Yulee, Orange Park, Green Cove Springs.  The International Cesarean Awareness Network is a non-profit advocacy and support group whose mission is to improve maternal and child health by preventing unnecessary cesareans through education, provide support for cesarean recovery, and promote vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). 

Every year we give support and information to thousands of women through our main office, local chapters, and e-mail support group. We provide impartial information, based on the latest research, which is easy to access for women and their care providers.

Meeting Information:
Morning Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at a rotating playground around the Jacksonville area. Please see the events tab on facebook or the calendar for locations. These meetings are child-friendly!
